科大機械人比賽代表隊再次奪冠
科大機械人比賽代表隊擊敗六家本地大專院校共九組參賽隊伍，在全港大專生機械人大賽2015中勝出。自2011年起，科大在該項比賽已連續第五年奪魁。
今年的比賽主題為「羽毛球爭霸戰」，鼓勵大專生設計和動手組裝機械人，親身體驗機械人工程。科大計算機科學系學生兼隊長區竣銘表示，「勝出大賽殊不容易。兩組科大隊伍共29名成員每日花上三小時練習及改良設計，使機械人動作更靈活流暢和精准無誤。」
由四月至今，科大機械人比賽代表隊於不同的機械人比賽中共獲得九個獎項。其中科大遙控水底機械人小隊在6月底於加拿大舉行的國際水底遙控載具大賽中亦勇奪四項殊榮。四個獎項當中包括「Explorer Class」組別第三名以及「Sharkpedo Award」，以表揚團隊的創新和原創性。科大遙控水底機械人小隊為這個國際賽事特別建造水底機械人，機械人能夠在水底進行多達25項任務，包括檢查和修復海底輸油管、協助離岸油田生產及在巨浪的海底環境下維修。
此外，科大隊亦參加了在七月舉行的第十屆飛思卡爾杯全國大學生智能車競賽(華南賽區)，並獲得三項殊榮。三個獎項包括兩個攝像頭組三等獎及一個電磁組優秀獎。於這個國際比賽，學生需要設計自主智能模型車，按照軌道競賽並以完成速度最快者為優勝。
科大隊伍將代表香港出賽參加八月於印度尼西亞舉行的國際比賽亞太廣播聯盟機械人大賽 2015。
