曾超華教授及博士生張鈺瑩奪「2023香港綠色創新大獎」銅獎
香港科技大學（科大）土木及環境工程學系教授曾超華及其博士生張鈺瑩，憑證其「生物炭隔熱砂漿：可持續建築方案」，奪得「2023香港綠色創新大獎」銅獎。
本屆共收到78個參賽項目，是2011年首屆舉辦時的五倍，凸顯了香港綠色產業的高速發展及計劃的激烈競爭。
曾教授的項目採用突破性的方法，將生物質廢棄物的碳負生物炭融入綠色隔熱石膏中。這項創新解決方案不僅增強了建築材料的隔熱性能，而且顯著減少了其碳足跡，為城市二氧化碳減排和可持續建築實踐提供了可擴展的解決方案。該技術已透過曾教授創辦的初創公司——冷炭建材有限公司——作實踐應用。
「香港綠色創新大獎」是「香港環境卓越大獎」轄下的年度獎項，旨在鼓勵機構以嶄新、可行的環保方案轉化成設備或系統，以應對環保問題。
「香港環境卓越大獎」被譽為香港的「綠色奧斯卡」，由環境運動委員會聯同香港特區政府環境及生態局及九個機構合辦。計劃旨在鼓勵企業及機構實施環境管理，及嘉許具備卓越環境表現的企業及機構。曾教授的創新方案體現了科大研究人員在開拓綠色技術和促進有影響力的合作方面所發揮的重要作用，並展現了大學將尖端研究轉化為實用解決方案、以應對全球可持續發展挑戰的使命。
