于宏宇教授及李建邦教授獲選為英國皇家航空學會會士
兩位機械及航空航天工程學系副教授于宏宇及李建邦獲選為英國皇家航空學會會士，以表彰他們在航空航天領域的教育、研究及服務方面的卓越貢獻。
會士榮銜為該會的最高級別會員資格，曾在航空航天界作出卓越貢獻、擔任重要職位，或具有長期優質行業經驗人士方可入選。
于宏宇教授的研究興趣是為科學研究和現實生活的難題提供工程解決方案。他專注於研究智能結構、傳感器和傳感平台，以及可應用於飛行器、機械人及消費電子產品的微型儀器。在2018年加入香港科技大學前，于教授任教於美國亞利桑那州立大學，並曾經擔任多個主要研究項目的首席研究員，包括美國國家航空暨太空總署、美國國家科學基金會及英特爾的研究項目。
李建邦教授的研究領域主要涵蓋流體力學、熱聲學及非綫性動力學，其研究可廣泛應用至航空航天動力及電力能源系統等範疇。李教授曾深入研究多種熱流體現象，包括開放剪切流中的全局不穩定性、橫流中的非牛頓霧化，以及熱聲模式的強制/相互同步。李教授的業界經驗豐富，曾與勞斯萊斯、LB Foster，以及Coanda Research & Development等企業合作。他於英國劍橋大學取得博士學位，畢業後於該校任研究員，並於2014年加入香港科技大學。
