PhD Alumnus Dr. YAO Quanming Selected in Forbes China 30 Under 30 List
Alumnus Dr. YAO Quanming (2018 PhD in Computer Science and Engineering) was named in the 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 China list, which recognized young entrepreneurs and changemakers under 30 years of age. He was included in the science and healthcare category and is currently a Senior Scientist & Founding Leader of Machine Learning Research Team at 4Paradigm Inc, an AI technology and service provider. His supervisor at HKUST was Prof. James KWOK.
The annual list comprises 300 young leaders in 10 different categories. Selection criteria include influence, performance and innovation. The vetting was done by a panel of more than 50 judges, who are accomplished entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, artists, university professors, or industry opinion leaders – all of them are experts in their fields.
