九位工學院教授獲2024年度國家自然科學基金「優秀青年科學基金」及「青年科學基金」項目資助
香港科技大學工學院九位年青學者獲2024年度國家自然科學基金項目資助，包括三位獲「優秀青年科學基金」項目資助及六位獲「青年科學基金」項目資助。九位學者遍布學院的六個學系，分別為：

「優秀青年科學基金項目」支持在基礎研究方面已取得較好成績的青年學者（男性未滿38周歲和女性未滿40周歲），自主選擇研究方向開展創新研究，促進青年科學技術人才的快速成長，培養一批有望進入世界科技前沿的優秀學術骨幹。每項資助經費為200萬元人民幣，資助限期為三年。
「青年科學基金項目」支持青年科學技術人員（男性未滿35周歲和女性未滿40周歲）在科學基金資助範圍內自主選題，開展基礎研究工作，培養青年科學技術人員獨立主持科研項目、進行創新研究的能力，激勵青年科學技術人員的創新思維，培養基礎研究後繼人才。每項資助經費為30萬元人民幣，資助限期為三年。
