博士生李昊天獲頒「微軟學者」獎學金
計算機科學及工程學系博士生李昊天獲選2022年「微軟學者」，是本年度獲頒此殊榮的12名傑出博士生之一。本年度的微軟學者獎學金吸引了近二百名來自亞太地區頂尖研究型大學及機構的優秀博士生申請，他們的研究領域涵蓋計算科學、硬件與軟件系統、人類與機器智能，及感知、識別與交互等範疇。
十二名分別來自中國、日本及南韓高等學府的得獎者中，李昊天是唯一來自本港大學的得獎者。
「微軟學者」獎學金旨在支持和鼓勵亞太地區的頂尖博士生發揮他們在計算機科學研究領域上的潛力。項目為得獎人提供導師指導、拓展人際網絡、學術交流和研究的機會。微軟學者並會被邀請至位於北京的微軟亞洲研究院，與全球頂尖的研究員一起進行尖端的學術研究。
李昊天師從屈華民教授，他的研究領域為數據視覺化、視覺化分析及人機交互。近年數據在類型和數量上都呈爆發式增長，然而人類分析數據的能力未能追上這個速度。智能視覺分析工具透過利用人類的高帶寬視覺系統來實現準確和快速的數據感知，有助解決數據分析能力不足的問題，因此是近年日益受重視的研究課題。昊天的研究旨在通過視覺化、人機交互和機器學習，促進人在迴路（human-in-the-loop）中的智能視覺分析技術。為了實踐這個研究目標，他深入了解數據分析可視化的實際運用，並利用研究結果開發智能視覺分析工具。他希望研究能有助發展一個生態系統。在這個生態系統下，人類透過機器智能的幫助能舒適和不費力地進行自適應視覺數據分析，讓每個人都可以不受障礙地以視覺分析數據。
