博士生李昊天获颁「微软学者」奖学金
计算机科学及工程学系博士生李昊天获选2022年「微软学者」，是本年度获颁此殊荣的12名杰出博士生之一。本年度的微软学者奖学金吸引了近二百名来自亚太地区顶尖研究型大学及机构的优秀博士生申请，他们的研究领域涵盖计算科学丶硬件与软件系统丶人类与机器智能，及感知丶识别与交互等范畴。
十二名分别来自中国丶日本及南韩高等学府的得奖者中，李昊天是唯一来自本港大学的得奖者。
「微软学者」奖学金旨在支持和鼓励亚太地区的顶尖博士生发挥他们在计算机科学研究领域上的潜力。项目为得奖人提供导师指导丶拓展人际网络丶学术交流和研究的机会。微软学者并会被邀请至位於北京的微软亚洲研究院，与全球顶尖的研究员一起进行尖端的学术研究。
李昊天师从屈华民教授，他的研究领域为数据视觉化丶视觉化分析及人机交互。近年数据在类型和数量上都呈爆发式增长，然而人类分析数据的能力未能追上这个速度。智能视觉分析工具透过利用人类的高带宽视觉系统来实现准确和快速的数据感知，有助解决数据分析能力不足的问题，因此是近年日益受重视的研究课题。昊天的研究旨在通过视觉化丶人机交互和机器学习，促进人在回路（human-in-the-loop）中的智能视觉分析技术。为了实践这个研究目标，他深入了解数据分析可视化的实际运用，并利用研究结果开发智能视觉分析工具。他希望研究能有助发展一个生态系统。在这个生态系统下，人类透过机器智能的帮助能舒适和不费力地进行自适应视觉数据分析，让每个人都可以不受障碍地以视觉分析数据。
