科大两队本科生队伍荣获2024年ASMPT科技奖金奖及铜奖
由香港科技大学（科大）计算机工程学本科生组成的队伍，凭藉其「两轮保安机械人」（Two-Wheeled Security Robot）毕业专题项目赢得2024年ASMPT科技奖金奖。另一队由综合系统与设计学部本科生组成的队伍则获得铜奖，项目名称为「立面安装机械人系统：高空工作现代化」（Facade Installation Robotic System (F.I.R.S): Modernizing Working at Heights）。
金奖队伍的指导老师为电子及计算机工程学系的施凌教授，成员包括黄浩伦丶蒋益诚和林家铭。为了提升城市环境中的保安营运，他们设计并开发了一台具有动态控制丶导航丶避障和互动功能的两轮机械人。该机械人能打破传统保安措施的局限性，并协助保安人员执行任务。
铜奖队伍的指导老师为综合系统与设计学部的崔志英教授丶梁嘉乐博士及向畅颖教授，组员包括陆泓乐丶宋琛丶谢睿楷丶王世杰和俞沐开。团队针对现时於建筑物外墙安装太阳能光伏板的困难，因相关工作通常需要工人在高空执行任务，导致劳动成本增加和造成安全隐患。他们利用机械人把部分安装流程自动化，包括应用电脑视觉整合机械人丶用於承载面板的承载模组，以及用於固定面板安装的机械结构。
ASMPT科技奖由ASMPT Limited设立，旨在推动本港创科发展，设金丶银丶铜奖以嘉许获邀大学工程及相关领域的杰出毕业专题项目。本年度踏入第九届，共有11项优秀项目获提名，它们分别来自香港城市大学丶香港中文大学丶香港浸会大学丶香港大学丶香港科技大学和香港理工大学的工学院或理学院。各专题项目与汇报环节的评审标准包括技术表现丶项目质素丶创意丶原创性丶应用性和实用性。参赛队伍於2024年6月21日向评审团进行汇报，颁奖典礼於同场举行。
