陈雷教授获选2024年国际计算机学会会士
香港科技大学（科大）计算机科学及工程学系讲座教授陈雷获国际计算机学会（Association for Computing Machinery，简称ACM）选为2024年会士，以表扬他在空间数据管理丶空间众包和深度学习框架方面的卓越贡献。本届全球共有55人获选，他们都对计算机科学和技术作出了变革性的贡献。ACM将于2025年6月14日在美国加州三藩市举行的年度颁奖晚宴上向新任会士颁授荣衔。
ACM是现时全球最大的计算机相关专业组织，以颁发享负盛名的图灵奖闻名，该奖项被誉为「电脑界诺贝尔奖」。会士荣衔是ACM最高级别的会员资格，旨在表扬最顶尖1%会员在计算和信息技术领域的卓越成就，以及他们对ACM及计算机专业社群作出的杰出服务。
陈雷教授的主要研究领域为数据驱动的人工智能丶知识图谱丶区块链丶数据私隐丶众包丶空间和时间数据库，以及对大型图形和概率数据库的查询优化。他同时是科大（广州）信息枢纽院长丶数据科学与分析学域讲座教授及人工智能学域署理主任。
