Alumni Kaleidoscope: Francis Kwok - BSc(PHYS)

Like many science students, Francis indulged in scientific innovation during his university years. Upon graduating, he combined his technical skills and talents with fellow alumna Irene Cheung's marketing initiative to found their own company, Radica, under HKUST's entrepreneurial program.

Today, Radica is a leading regional e-marketing solutions provider and the first HKUST spin-off company to set up headquarters at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. It has offices in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou, with clients ranging from small and medium-sized firms to listed companies and the Fortune 500 global conglomerate. As Chief Executive Officer, Francis is responsible for the company's strategic direction, business development and investor relations.

His excellent leadership and achievements won Francis the AD100 TOP Men Award presented by Adworld 2010 China. He is a regular author and guest speaker on e-marketing and database marketing topics for commercial, governmental and academic sectors. He is also among one of the alumni mentors. More recently, he was appointed as one of five new non-official members of the Commission on Strategic Development.

Francis was himself on the HKUST swim team during his study and always reckons that sports people are more optimistic, energetic and healthier. Since January 2014, Radica has been offering internship opportunities to our current students who are also on the sports team.
