Innovation & Entrepreneurship - Uniting for Smart City Industry Engagement Success

We are thrilled to share the highlights of the successful HKUST Industry Engagement Day Plus event, which took place today at the new campus of the School of Engineering at Kwun Tong. Focused on "Safer, Greener and Better - Make Our City Smarter with Technology," this industry event brought together more than 150 participants, including government officials, Legislative Council members, HKUST Council Members, industry luminaries, research teams, and startup companies. Together, we delved into sustainable solutions for the advancement of smart city initiatives.

Jointly organized by HKUST Knowledge Transfer Office, HKUST GREAT Smart Cities Institute, and HKUST Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association, apart from the morning symposium, the event offered three concurrent sharing sessions and a dynamic platform for 22 pioneering startups from HKUST to engage in discussions and explore synergistic opportunities for collaboration. Distinguished speakers from the Housing Bureau and Development Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government graced us with insights into the latest smart city endeavors, support for the industries and commercialization of HKUST’s deeptech projects.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our supporting organizations, esteemed speakers, and all participants whose contributions were instrumental in the outstanding success of this event. The HKUST Industry Engagement Day Plus series remains a cornerstone for fostering invaluable networking, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives between academia and industry, paving the way for a brighter and smarter future.
