邵敏華教授帶領項目獲低碳綠色科研基金最高資助金額
由香港科技大學（科大）化學及生物工程學系教授兼科大能源研究院院長邵敏華教授帶領的一個項目，是「低碳綠色科研基金」首輪申請中最新一批獲批的六個項目之一。連同早前公布第一批獲批資助、分別由陳光浩教授及Francesco CIUCCI教授領導的其中兩個項目，工學院教授共有三個項目於低碳綠色科研基金首輪申請中獲得資助。
邵教授的項目名為「開發高性能長壽命氫燃料電池電堆」，為期三年，獲得近港幣900萬元的資助，是首輪申請共批出的14個項目中（來自四所本地大學和三間私營企業）資助金額最高的一個項目。
在這個項目中，邵教授的團隊旨在開發和商業化燃料電池的關鍵材料和組件，即低鉑催化劑和膜電極組件，然後將其和其他組件一起組裝成高性能燃料電池電堆。透過與香港中華煤氣有限公司及其他本地和中國內地領先的業界夥伴合作，該項目有望促進潔淨氫技術在香港的發展和應用。
香港政府在2020年成立二億元的低碳綠色科研基金，為推動香港減碳和加強保護環境的科研項目提供更充裕和對焦的資助，有助香港邁向2050年前實現碳中和的目標。基金於首輪申請共接獲逾190份申請，反應熱烈。
