邵敏华教授带领项目获低碳绿色科研基金最高资助金额
由香港科技大学（科大）化学及生物工程学系教授兼科大能源研究院院长邵敏华教授带领的一个项目，是「低碳绿色科研基金」首轮申请中最新一批获批的六个项目之一。连同早前公布第一批获批资助、分别由陈光浩教授及Francesco CIUCCI教授领导的其中两个项目，工学院教授共有三个项目于低碳绿色科研基金首轮申请中获得资助。
邵教授的项目名为「开发高性能长寿命氢燃料电池电堆」，为期三年，获得近港币900万元的资助，是首轮申请共批出的14个项目中（来自四所本地大学和三间私营企业）资助金额最高的一个项目。
在这个项目中，邵教授的团队旨在开发和商业化燃料电池的关键材料和组件，即低铂催化剂和膜电极组件，然后将其和其他组件一起组装成高性能燃料电池电堆。透过与香港中华煤气有限公司及其他本地和中国内地领先的业界伙伴合作，该项目有望促进洁净氢技术在香港的发展和应用。
香港政府在2020年成立二亿元的低碳绿色科研基金，为推动香港减碳和加强保护环境的科研项目提供更充裕和对焦的资助，有助香港迈向2050年前实现碳中和的目标。基金于首轮申请共接获逾190份申请，反应热烈。
