陳雷教授獲選2024年國際計算機學會會士
香港科技大學（科大）計算機科學及工程學系講座教授陳雷獲國際計算機學會（Association for Computing Machinery，簡稱ACM）選為2024年會士，以表揚他在空間數據管理、空間眾包和深度學習框架方面的卓越貢獻。本屆全球共有55人獲選，他們都對計算機科學和技術作出了變革性的貢獻。ACM將於2025年6月14日在美國加州三藩市舉行的年度頒獎晚宴上向新任會士頒授榮銜。
ACM是現時全球最大的計算機相關專業組織，以頒發享負盛名的圖靈獎聞名，該獎項被譽為「電腦界諾貝爾獎」。會士榮銜是ACM最高級別的會員資格，旨在表揚最頂尖1%會員在計算和信息技術領域的卓越成就，以及他們對ACM及計算機專業社群作出的傑出服務。
陳雷教授的主要研究領域為數據驅動的人工智能、知識圖譜、區塊鏈、數據私隱、眾包、空間和時間數據庫，以及對大型圖形和概率數據庫的查詢優化。他同時是科大（廣州）信息樞紐院長、數據科學與分析學域講座教授及人工智能學域署理主任。
