科大教授荣登2014年全球最具影响力科学家排行榜
香港科技大学三位教授荣获汤森路透选为全球最具影响力科学家，以表扬他们的杰出研究成就，并出席了十月十五日举行的颁奖礼。
三位当选「2014年全球最具影响力科学家」的科大教授为：香港科技大学张鉴泉理学教授、中科院院士兼化学系讲座教授唐本忠博士; 机械及航空航天工程学系讲座教授、科大能源研究院院长赵天寿教授; 和化学系研究助理教授林荣业博士。
排行榜统计全球学者的文献数量，得奬的近3,200位科硏人员在2002至2012年间在其领域发表的论文，被引述的次数位列各个领域的首１％。汤森路透指出这些科学家的论文「经常被其他科学家们评为具重要性和实用性」。
唐本忠教授多年来硏究有关「聚集诱导发光」（AIE）的新现象、新过程和新理论，开发其在化学、生物传感及光电器件等方面的应用; 赵天寿教授在能源工程学享负盛名，在燃料电池、液流电池，和燃料电池中多相能质传递与电化学反应动力学的相互作用机理、建立了新的理论框架; 林荣业博士致力于和唐本忠教授一起硏究具有线性，超支化结构及先进功能性质的新型高分子。
科大教授是次获奖印证科大发展优质学术质研究、以及创造具世界性影响力知识的视野和使命。科大将继续积极发掘科技与工商管理的新知识，而不只是担当传统授课者的角色。
