曾超华教授及博士生张钰莹夺「2023香港绿色创新大奖」铜奖
香港科技大学（科大）土木及环境工程学系教授曾超华及其博士生张钰莹，凭证其「生物炭隔热砂浆：可持续建筑方案」，夺得「2023香港绿色创新大奖」铜奖。
本届共收到78个参赛项目，是2011年首届举办时的五倍，凸显了香港绿色产业的高速发展及计划的激烈竞争。
曾教授的项目采用突破性的方法，将生物质废弃物的碳负生物炭融入绿色隔热石膏中。这项创新解决方案不仅增强了建筑材料的隔热性能，而且显着减少了其碳足迹，为城市二氧化碳减排和可持续建筑实践提供了可扩展的解决方案。该技术已透过曾教授创办的初创公司——冷炭建材有限公司——作实践应用。
「香港绿色创新大奖」是「香港环境卓越大奖」辖下的年度奖项，旨在鼓励机构以崭新丶可行的环保方案转化成设备或系统，以应对环保问题。
「香港环境卓越大奖」被誉为香港的「绿色奥斯卡」，由环境运动委员会联同香港特区政府环境及生态局及九个机构合办。计划旨在鼓励企业及机构实施环境管理，及嘉许具备卓越环境表现的企业及机构。曾教授的创新方案体现了科大研究人员在开拓绿色技术和促进有影响力的合作方面所发挥的重要作用，并展现了大学将尖端研究转化为实用解决方案丶以应对全球可持续发展挑战的使命。
