Prof Tianshou Zhao Named Highly Cited Researcher for Third Consecutive Year
Prof Tianshou Zhao, Chair Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Director of HKUST Energy Institute, has been selected as a Highly Cited Researcher 2016 by Thomson Reuters. This is the third consecutive year he has been selected in the list, which represents some of the world’s most influential scientific minds. The honor is given to researchers whose papers rank among the top 1% most cited works for their subject field during the 11-year period of 2004-2014, earning them the mark of exceptional impact.
The list recognizes leading researchers in the sciences and social sciences from around the world with their work identified as among the most valuable and significant in the field. The 2016 list contains about 3,000 highly cited researchers in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences. Prof Zhao is among only 145 researchers worldwide to be included in the engineering field of the list. There are a total of seven recipients from Hong Kong in the engineering field.
