八大聯校運動減少使用塑膠飲管
八所教資會資助大學將於本月12日聯合發起「八大走飲管」環保運動，以減少使用即棄塑膠飲管。
此運動標誌著香港城市大學、香港浸會大學、嶺南大學、香港中文大學、香港教育大學、香港理工大學、香港科技大學及香港大學共同努力減少塑膠廢物。
八所大學將會分別於3月12至16日期間，在校內舉辦「無飲管週」或「無飲管日」，屆時校園內的食肆只會在要求下才提供飲管。其他活動包括電影放映會、零廢物市場及派發可循環再用的飲管。
此外，八所大學亦承諾訂立長遠的措施，包括定期舉辦提升環保意識的活動、無飲管日或於校園內全面停止使用塑膠飲管。
該運動的目的旨在減少塑膠廢物，以及提升高等院校，以至整個香港的環保意識。今次八所大學聯手是希望讓個別院校積極於校內推廣減少塑膠廢物的努力得到更大的效益。
香港浸會大學率先推行的「無飲管大學」措施，以及香港大學較早前舉辦的「無飲管週」，最終成功減少90%至95%的塑膠飲管耗用量。
嶺南大學核心課程及通識教育主任兼科學教研組主任、香港可持續校園聯盟召集人Mark McGinley教授表示：「我很高興見到本港八所大學聯合舉辦『八大走飲管』環保運動。透過共同努力，夥伴院校之間可以互相啟發和學習，成為積極轉變的催化劑。」
該運動由香港可持續校園聯盟主辦。該聯盟是香港高等院校的知識交流和討論平台，共同締造可持續發展的未來。
