八大联校运动减少使用塑料饮管
八所教资会资助大学将于本月12日联合发起「八大走饮管」环保运动，以减少使用即弃塑料饮管。
此运动标志着香港城市大学、香港浸会大学、岭南大学、香港中文大学、香港教育大学、香港理工大学、香港科技大学及香港大学共同努力减少塑料废物。
八所大学将会分别于3月12至16日期间，在校内举办「无饮管周」或「无饮管日」，届时校园内的食肆只会在要求下才提供饮管。其他活动包括电影放映会、零废物市场及派发可循环再用的饮管。
此外，八所大学亦承诺订立长远的措施，包括定期举办提升环保意识的活动、无饮管日或于校园内全面停止使用塑料饮管。
该运动的目的旨在减少塑料废物，以及提升高等院校，以至整个香港的环保意识。今次八所大学连手是希望让个别院校积极于校内推广减少塑料废物的努力得到更大的效益。
香港浸会大学率先推行的「无饮管大学」措施，以及香港大学较早前举办的「无饮管周」，最终成功减少90%至95%的塑料饮管耗用量。
岭南大学核心课程及通识教育主任兼科学教研组主任、香港可持续校园联盟召集人Mark McGinley教授表示：「我很高兴见到本港八所大学联合举办『八大走饮管』环保运动。透过共同努力，伙伴院校之间可以互相启发和学习，成为积极转变的催化剂。」
该运动由香港可持续校园联盟主办。该联盟是香港高等院校的知识交流和讨论平台，共同缔造可持续发展的未来。
