立「光」見影
香港科技大學張鑑泉理學教授兼化學系講座教授唐本忠教授的研究團隊,近日成功研發嶄新「聚集誘導發光」(AIE) 物料,可提升法醫搜證的效率及應用於細菌顯影技術。
新AIE物料所套取的指模質素較普遍使用的碳粉技術優勝,不但可節省達90%的搜證時間,而且能夠更穩定及準確地探測細菌活性。
唐本忠教授指出,AIE所獲取的指模在質素或效率方面,都更勝目前採用的碳粉技術。
AIE物料的優勢在於使用時無須轉移指紋。只需拍下指模影像,再以AIE物料令其發光,然後將影像傳送到智能裝置,即可與相關數據庫作比對。
唐教授表示︰「傳統方法較為耗時,而且把指模轉移至膠紙的過程中,部份影像或會流失,因此指模質素可能較為遜色。」
唐教授認為AIE 亦能延長細菌發光的時間,故有潛力成為更準確和穩定的顯影劑,用以探測細菌活性。因此,AIE物料尤其有利環境監測、醫療衞生、食品加工以至醫藥品質控制等廣泛行業。
