香港科技大學獲田家炳基金會捐贈支持「小朋友@科大」科學及數學工作坊
香港科技大學(科大)獲田家炳基金捐款，支持「小朋友@科大」科學及數學工作坊。科大日前舉辦開幕典禮，田家炳基金會董事局主席田慶先先生、科大副校長(大學拓展)翁以登博士和理學院資優教育發展中心教育發展組總監楊霖龍教授擔任主禮嘉賓。
田家炳基金會一直以來熱心支持科大，今年已經是第二年贊助低收入家庭小學生參加「小朋友@科大」科學及數學工作坊。基金會過去曾多次慷慨捐助，支持科大的發展，成立 「田家炳基金會訪問學人計劃」，推動科大與內地大學的學術交流，以及成立「田家炳教育基金」，資助內地年輕和有潛質的「青年研究員」來到香港科技大學賽馬會高等研究院，協助駐院教授從事教研工作。
「小朋友@科大」科學工作坊為科大理學院教育發展組多年來主辦的一個科普發展項目，為期一天的工作坊由教授設計，以小學生為對象。活動內容圍繞科學和數學，並結合簡單的實驗，以增加學生們對學習科學的動機及興趣。參加者以小組形式在科大學生指導下進行活動，藉以增強他們的溝通技巧和培養互相合作的精神。
