Wei Chen Won Best Paper Award at Prestigious 2006 IEEE International Conference on Communications
Wei Chen, a research student of the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department, won the Best Paper Award at the prestigious 2006 IEEE International Conference on Communications, held in Istanbul, Turkey, on June 11-15, 2006. This award highlights HKUST's achievements in cutting-edge research, and demonstrates that the wireless research group's research findings enjoy worldwide recognition. The IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) is one of the IEEE Communications Society's flagship conferences, with full programs of technical and professional activities spanning the entire range of hot topics in voice, data, image, quality of service, home networking, signal processing, wireless, optical, and multimedia communications. The 2006 ICC received more than 2600 submissions with over 1000 technical experts from all over the world participating in the peer review process. The award-winning paper entitled "A Cross Layer Method for Interference Cancellation and Network Coding in Wireless Networks”was co-authored by Prof Khaled Ben Letaief, Electronic and Computer Engineering Department, along with Prof Zhigang Cao of the Electronic Engineering Department at Tsinghua University.
