李德富教授獲美國普渡大學頒發「2024年傑出工程校友獎」
電子及計算機工程學系講座教授、新明工程學教授李德富教授獲美國普渡大學工程學院頒發「2024年傑出工程校友獎」。頒獎典禮於4月11日在普渡大學舉行，李教授是本屆六位獲選人士當中，唯一一位來自美國以外的得獎者。
李教授因其在計算機科學及工程學的卓越表現而獲嘉許，他對涉及4G蜂巢式系統和其他先進無線網絡的無線技術作出了具影響力的貢獻。
李教授說：「普渡大學授予我的這個傑出獎項對我來說意義重大，我深感榮幸。」李教授早年於普渡大學完成了學士、哲學碩士和哲學博士共三個學位。該年度獎項歷史悠久，自1964年首次頒發，至今擁有達六十年的歷史。
李德富教授是國際稱譽的無線通訊和網絡領域學術翹楚，在其傑出的學術生涯中屢獲殊榮，包括美國國家工程院院士榮銜、南非約翰內斯堡大學榮譽工程學博士學位、電機電子工程師學會（IEEE）通訊學會Edwin Howard Armstrong成就獎，以及突尼西亞國家級榮譽「最佳突尼西亞海外研究員或發明家」。他也是IEEE、香港工程師學會和香港工程科學院院士。
李教授於1993年加入科大，歷任多個高級行政管理職位，包括工學院院長（2009-2015年）、電子及計算機工程學系系主任（2003-2009年），以及卡塔爾哈邁德．本．哈利法大學首席副校長（2015-2018年）。現時，他於科大同時擔任校長高級顧問。
李教授多年來積極參與專業學會的會務，並於IEEE擔任多項要職，包括IEEE通訊學會主席（2018-2019年），也是著名期刊《IEEE無線通訊學報》的創刊總編輯。
