四名教授獲研究資助局2022/23年度協作研究金撥款
四項由工學院教授率領的跨院校、跨學科研究項目獲香港研究資助局2022/23年度協作研究金撥款，總額達1,656萬港元，其中兩項獲協作研究項目補助金，另外兩項獲新進學者協作研究補助金。四項研究的資助年期均為三年。
機械及航空航天工程學系黃寶陵教授領導的研究項目題為「高性能離子熱電水凝膠的開發及其在多功能智能皮膚和體溫發電中的應用」，獲協作研究項目補助金約478萬港元撥款。黃教授與香港城市大學及香港中文大學的學者合作，研究旨在調查影響聚合物電解質中熱電能的因素，並研發不同策略調節離子水凝膠的熱電特性。項目下一步將開發以離子水凝膠為基礎的多功能智能皮膚和混合體溫集電器，以探討高性能離子水凝膠在熱能感應及低溫度熱能收集上的潛在應用。
另一項目由機械及航空航天工程學系李志剛教授領導，獲協作研究項目補助金撥款近416萬港元。項目以「重塑氣體燃料存儲 - 金屬有機物框架多孔材料熱物性研究」為題 ，目標是深入了解和控制多孔金屬有機物框架的物理和熱能特性，從而為未來的氣體燃料存儲系統提供設計指引。協作者包括香港城市大學和香港大學的研究學者。
綜合系統與設計學部和電子及計算機工程學系的李桂君教授聯同香港大學的協作者，憑藉「大面積抗病毒自清潔表面之製備研究」獲新進學者協作研究補助金撥款約417萬港元。項目目的是研發一套智能生產系統，以低成本製造抗病毒薄膜，以應用於公共地方表面以收抗病毒之效。
另一項名為「邁向2060碳中和：大灣區光伏綠屋頂的全生命週期規劃與設計方案」的研究，獲新進學者協作研究補助金撥款約346萬港元。項目由土木及環境工程學系王者教授帶領，將研究光伏板、植被、樓宇屋頂與周邊微環境之間的熱相互作用，然後在此基礎上優化光伏綠屋頂設計及量化其生命週期效益。研究將與香港城市大學和香港理工大學的學者合作。
