科大在2020年研究評審工作取得優異成績
香港科技大學（科大）很高興在大學教育資助委員會（教資會）最新的「2020研究評審工作」中，繼續獲得出色評價。科大共有446名合資格教學人員提交研究成果、研究影響及研究環境項目，超過81％被評為「國際卓越」或「世界領先」水平，較「2014研究評審工作」的表現進一步改善。
最新的評審工作審視了13個研究領域，科大參與了其中9個，並於當中五個領域﹕自然科學、電機及電子工程、建造環境、商科及經濟，以及社會科學中，取得最多被評為「世界領先」水準的研究工作，屬所有本地院校之冠。另外，大學有近九成的研究影響個案被評為具有「相當重要以至出眾的影響力」。
科大校長史維教授表示：「大學為我們的教員感到自豪，他(她)們為創造知識而奮鬥，全心投入研究工作，我對同事們致以衷心感謝。未來科大將繼續與來自教研及工商界別的夥伴合作，推動創新與知識轉移，為解決社會現存及長期性根本問題而努力。」
在是次評審工作中，八所教資會資助大學所提交的研究工作有約70％被評為「世界領先」或「國際一流」，較2014年的評審有很大進步。史校長表示，政府及教資會近年增撥研究經費，並推出一系列利好創科及科研的政策，對本地高教界造成了更大支持。
他說：「今次評審結果顯示本港大學於研究方面具有國際領先優勢，期望未來能吸引更多優秀教研人才來港。」
