科大「放眼工程」攝影比賽頒獎
香港科技大學（科大）工學院首次舉辦的「放眼工程」攝影比賽今天舉行頒獎禮。
學界對這次比賽的反應十分熱烈，參賽作品共775份，而水準也非常高。評審團共挑選出46幅優勝作品。
比賽於今年5月20日至6月2日在學院的Facebook網頁舉行，旨在鼓勵參加者探索「工程」與日常生活的聯繫性。比賽分「大專組」及「中學組」兩個組別。大專組有164名參賽者，共提交了390張參賽照片；中學組則有215名參賽者，共提交了385張參賽照片。
工學院副院長吳宏偉教授頒獎禮上表示：「這次比賽非常成功；從參賽作品中，我們看到同學們都花盡心思，發揮創意，以新鮮的角度表達工程師的傑作。」
作品題材非常廣泛，既有摩天大廈、天秤、建築結構，亦有LED照明燈、網絡導線，甚至昆蟲界的建築－蜘蛛網。
所有提交作品由Facebook用戶在網上作首輪評審。投票期共錄得大專組高達7,238票及中學組5,139票。評審團成員包括香港工程師學會會長陳嘉正博士、香港中學校長會副主席伍瑞球校長及香港攝影記者協會前主席葉英傑先生。
每個組別的冠軍得主均贏得高科技電子產品iPad，亞軍得主獲得數碼相機，季軍得主則獲得500GB外置硬盤。
評判之一陳嘉正博士認為作品甚有水準。他表示：「我很高興看到青少年學生能夠在他們日常生活中發掘到多種和工程有關的事物，並透過攝影將它們一一呈現。」
另一位評判伍瑞球校長說：「從參賽作品可看到，同學是有認真考慮如何拍一張好照片，如切合工程的主題、攝影技巧、角度運用和美感。」
