Photography Contest ‘Engineered Life in Your Eyes’ Opens

Students will now have a chance to showcase their photos on the most popular online platform ‘Facebook’ and win the high-tech gadget iPad by taking part in the Photography Contest organized by the School of Engineering (SENG).

The contest, with the theme of ‘Engineered Life in Your Eyes’, runs from 20 May to 2 June on the Facebook Fan Page of SENG. The contest aims to further arouse students’ interest in engineering and raise their awareness on its close association with their daily lives.

Entrants can submit up to 10 photos which they believe best illustrate the close association of engineering and their daily lives.

The contest is divided into two categories. Category A for secondary school students and Category B for students of tertiary and post-secondary institutions.

All submitted photos will be open for preliminary judging until 8 June by SENG facebook fans, who can give one vote to each of their favourite photos each day. A judging panel comprising Ir Dr Andrew CHAN Ka Ching, President of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers; Mr NG Sui Kou, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Association of the Heads of Secondary Schools and Mr Bobby YIP, former President of Hong Kong Press Photographers Association will make a final judging and decide the winners.

In each category, there will be first prize, second prize, third prize and a number of commendations. Results of the contest will be announced on the SENG Facebook Fan Page on 12 June. Winners will be notified for collection of prizes.
