CIVL Alumna Jenny Yeung Received Young Engineer of the Year Award 2006

In recognition of her significant contribution and outstanding achievement to the engineering profession, Ms. Jenny Yeung, 1995 BEng (Civil & Structural), received the Young Engineer of the Year Award 2006 from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers on March 14.

After graduating from HKUST, Ms. Yeung received an MPhil from the Cambridge University. Currently a Geotechnical Engineer at the Geotechnical Engineering Office of the HKSAR Civil Engineering and Development Department, Ms Yeung contributes incessantly to the Hong Kong community through her expertise in slope safety and other geotechnical issues.

During the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers 31st Annual Dinner, three awards were presented. Besides the Young Engineer of the Year Award, the HKIE Gold Medal Award was presented to Prof Charles K Kao, known as the "Father of Fibre Optics", and the President's Award went to Prof Jan-ming Ko, the Vice President for Research Development of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
