HKUST has joined 11 other leading universities in engineering in the region to form the Asia-Oceania Top University League on Engineering (AOTULE)

The league, formed in March this year, seeks to improve the quality of engineering education and research and to facilitate international collaborations among its top-ranking members through exchanges of information, students and staff.

 

Other league members comprise Monash University (Australia), Tsinghua University (China), National Taiwan University (Taiwan), India Institute of Technology Bombay (India), Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan), Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Korea), University of Malaya (Malaysia), The University of Auckland (New Zealand), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand).

 

At the first Deans’ Meeting at Tokyo Institute of Technology in March, representatives agreed to implement joint annual research symposiums, exchanges, and an annual meeting of Deans of Engineering Schools/Faculties, among other programs.

 

The second gathering takes place at the Korean Advanced Institute for Science and Technology in Daejeon, Korea from 28-30 November. Student and young scientists’ workshops on mechanical science/engineering and polymer science/engineering will be held at the same time,
