ECE Research Team Wins Best Paper Award at IEEE ICC'2007
Ernest Sze-Yuen Lo, a PhD candidate in the department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at HKUST, won the Best Paper Award at the prestigious 2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, held in Glasgow, Scotland June 24-28, 2007.
This award highlights HKUST's achievements in cutting-edge research, and demonstrates that the Wireless group's research findings enjoy worldwide recognition.
The IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) is one of the IEEE Communications Society's flagship conferences, with full programs of technical and professional activities spanning the entire range of hot topics in voice, data, image, quality of service, home networking, signal processing, wireless, optical, and multimedia communications. ICC typically received more than 2500 submissions with over 1000 technical experts from all over the world participating in the peer review process.
The award winning paper titled "Cooperative Concatenated Coding for Wireless Systems" was co-authored by Professor Khaled Ben Letaief, Chair Professor and Head of the department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at HKUST.
