杨海教授获美国土木工程师学会Francis C. Turner奖
香港科技大学（科大）土木及环境工程学系讲座教授杨海教授荣获美国土木工程师学会颁发2021年度Francis C. Turner奖。
该奖项由美国土木工程师学会交通与发展研究会于1988年设立，得奖者均对促进交通运输工程领域知识及实践作出重大贡献。这次获奖认可了杨教授在交通网络建模及交通经济学领域，发挥着出色的领导作用，并表扬其优秀的研究和指导工作。
作为交通网络分析及交通经济学分析的权威，杨教授于多份知名学术期刊发表具影响力的论文，包括《Transportation Research Part B》、《Transportation Research Part C》、《Transportation Science》及《Networks and Spatial Economics》。其论文在Google学术搜寻被引用超过两万四千次，数据在国际交通运输学界名列前茅。在2013年至2018年期间，杨教授曾担任《Transportation Research Part B: Methodological》的总编辑。他在任期间，期刊所发表的论文数目增加一倍，影响系数上升，令期刊在学界更具权威性。现时，他是这份期刊的杰出（荣誉）编委。杨教授的研究不但提升对复杂交通运输问题的认知及思维，同时亦具实际影响力。他在按需求提供的交通服务研究工作，包括共享出行服务如Uber和传统的士等，都被应用在公私营业界，协助改善服务营运和效率。
除了在研究方面取得主要成就，杨教授同时亦致力于培育下一代，桃李满门。当中许多由他指导的博士毕业生都曾赢取不同奖项，并各自在学术工作方面取得相当的成就。
杨教授于1993年加入科大。此次获奖之前，他在2020年得到同由美国土木工程师学会颁发的Frank M. Masters Transportation Engineering奖，并在过去多年来获得多项加许，包括2011年由中国国务院授予国家自然科学奖、2012年获国家教育部聘为长江学者讲座教授，及同年得到科大工学院卓越研究奖。
