Yu Shing Hei Won Joint Symposium 2006 - Efficient Built Environment for Tomorrow Research Project Award

Yu Shing Hei is a MECH Co-op student in the academic year of 2005-06. His project titled "Heat recovery from waste water in a public swimming pool" is a collaborative project between the Department of Mechanical Engineering, HKUST and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of the HKSAR Government. 

 

He studied the possibility and the efficiency of installing a heat exchanger - using Gravitational Film heat eXchangers (GFXs), in the form of a heat recovery system at a swimming pool, thereby achieving efficient use of building energy.
