Secondary School Students Get Inspired on Engineering Education and Career Day

Around 80 Form 1 to 3 secondary school students, parents and teachers participated in the Engineering Education and Career Day hosted by the School of Engineering (SENG) on January 27, 2024. The half-day event is part of the “bE inspired too!” program, which is jointly organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong and Arup and aims to develop students’ engineering mindset and interest in STEM.

At the opening, participants were warmly welcomed by Associate Dean of Engineering (Undergraduate Studies) Prof. WANG Yu-Hsing. This was followed by a talk on undergraduate studies at the School, delivered by Prof. Ben CHAN, Associate Dean of Students and Associate Director of Center for Engineering Education Innovation, and Prof. WONG Man-Hoi, Associate Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering.

They then took part in a range of activities, including lab visits, project demonstration, experiments, workshops and sharing by current SENG students. It is hoped that these activities will encourage the students to explore various engineering disciplines and to learn about different study and career pathways in engineering.
