HKUST Welcomed Visit from the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council
On June 11, HKUST welcomed the 18-member delegation, led by the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council Foundation Chairman Mr Hui Leung Wah and the Council's Deputy Chairmen Mr Alan Cheung and Mr Ricky Chan. A welcome lunch was hosted by Acting President Professor Wei Shyy and Vice-President for Institutional Advancement Professor Sabrina Lin. To encourage networking and exchanges, the University has invited over ten professors to meet with the industrialists as well as the Council member cum Vice Chairman of the Institutional Advancement and Outreach Committee Professor Jack Lau to talk about applications for the Innovation & Technology Fund. The delegation also learnt about the latest development of the School of Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, Integrative Systems & Design and visited the Robotics Institute.
Professor Shyy remarked, “HKUST always treasures support from the industrialists and looks forward to closer collaboration. We hope to obtain more internship opportunities for our students and work hand in hand with the private sector on nurturing talents and driving research development.”
