HKUST Students Won Two Second Prizes at the 4th China Mobile Wutong Cup Big Data Innovation Competition (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Region)
Three HKUST students – in two teams – won two Second Prizes at the 4th China Mobile Wutong Cup Big Data Innovation Competition (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Region), which was organized by China Mobile Communication Group and co-hosted by China Mobile Hong Kong.
This year marks the introduction of the “Wutong Cup” in Hong Kong, which has been held in different regions since 2021. The competition aims to discover university students’ research and innovative practices in areas such as data application, artificial intelligence, and data security, promoting the integration of China Mobile’s big data applications across various industries.
The winning students are:
Second Prize in Data Security Track
- GUO Meichen (Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management – BEng in Computer Science and BBA in Finance) and YE Yilin (BSc in Data Science and Technology)
The team effectively utilized the data provided to investigate industry trends and technological hotspots, developing optimized data security management solutions.
Second Prize in Artificial Intelligence Track
- WANG Yuchao (MSc in Technology Leadership and Entrepreneurship)
Yuchao proposed innovative solutions for specific scenarios based on AI technologies, showcasing his creativity and technical skills.
