Alumni Kaleidoscope: Kelvin Yuen - Mphil(CIVL)

Kelvin's academic voyage has taken him from Macau to Taiwan, Hong Kong, the USA and then back to Macau where he is now a Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Macau. His research focuses on Bayesian inference, system identification of general dynamical systems and structural health monitoring. His academic prowess has been recognized through various awards and honors, such as the 2011 Young Investigator Award from the International Chinese Association on Computational Mechanics. He also served/serves as Spokesman of the First Joint Admission Examination for Four Higher Education Institutions in Macao and Council Member of the School of the Police Officials in Macao.

Faced with the vast number of construction projects and the ever-changing landscape in Macau, Kelvin hopes to contribute to his motherland by grooming more talents in the civil engineering sector.  "Education is a life-long commitment," he elaborates. "I look forward to nurturing the future generations who are dedicated to the industry. Together we will showcase the dynamism of Macau to the world.”
