香港科技大學畢業生就業能力全球排行16
香港科技大學(科大)於本年度的全球大學就業能力調查及排名(Global Employability University Survey and Ranking 2014)躍升兩級至16名，位列大中華院校之首。此項調查同時於美國«紐約時報»報導。
該調查共訪問了4,500名來自全球20個國家的招聘與行政人員，包括美國、中國、日本、英國、墨西哥、摩洛哥、西班牙及歐洲其他地區，當中超過一半受訪者來自1,000間全球領先的公司。大部分受訪者認為，國際化的大學模式將會是大勢所趨，各院校應提供學習就業理論和實踐並重的環境，以準備學生投身社會。報告亦指出，著重發展科學、科技、工程與數學學科（STEM）的院校排名相對較佳。
調查由法國人力資源顧問公司Emerging及德國主要研究機構Trendence合作進行，根據美國«紐約時報»報導，亞洲院校的就業能力排名於僱主眼中不斷提升，佔本年度首150家學府的五分之一，相比2011年高出兩倍。科大於去年的排名為18。
科大校長陳繁昌教授對大學排名上升表示欣喜：「對於世界各地的僱主樂於聘用科大畢業生，我感到十分鼓舞。調查結果亦印證了我們全人敎育的成果，致力培育全才，以國際視野應對問題。作為中國最國際化的大學之一，科大的多元學習環境開拓學生的視野，提升能力，讓他們身處不同環境與情況都能應對自如。」
陳校長續稱:「此調查較其他大學排名更具意義，調查結果指出科大畢業生工作表現良好，且受全球公司歡迎。」
為加強學生的競爭及就業能力，科大積極與全球250間頂尖學府合作，包括200個交流夥伴，透過交流、實習與義工服務，增加學生的全球經驗。科大期望將本科生參與海外交流的比例由現時的四成提升至五成。
科大的學生就業中心亦會有策略地協助學生按興趣作出就業計劃、掌握瞬息萬變的就業市場及僱主的要求。大學並充分利用企業、專業團體及校友的龐大網絡，提升學生的就業能力。
