培育心繫世界的領袖
典型的香港學生在學術方面或許表現卓越，但對戰地難民的困境可能了解不多。有見及此，香港科技大學（科大）與紅十字國際委員會（ICRC）展開合作，讓ICRC的外交和人道主義理想，結合科大的傳統工程、商業和科學實力。今次合作為「科大侍學行」的最新項目，透過跟廣大社區聯繫互動，提升學生的學習體驗及公民意識。
對亞洲學生來說，人道主義和救援政策研究是相對冷門的學科，因此科大邁出重要一步，與中立且獨立的人道組織ICRC建立橋樑，為學生提供實踐同理心的機會。此外，ICRC亦呼籲大眾關注全球武裝衝突中的受害者困境。
這個項目涵蓋以探討經濟為主的研究、工作坊和專門培訓，學生將有一個千載難逢的機會，在ICRC位於日內瓦的總部工作。他／她將協助處理外交事務，接待包括國家領事代表和國際集團領袖等組織捐款者與合作夥伴。
這項具前瞻性的計劃由科大與ICRC政府事務及捐款者關係部合作，ICRC更成立一個新部門「行動經驗與研究中心」，就人道工作對發展中國家所帶來的經濟效益進行研究。
科大亦與 ICRC展開一系列新活動，包括職業講座、校長與社會領袖對談，分享創業學習中有關道德和人道主義問題，以及全日工作坊，包括小組討論、匯報及角色扮演。
這次合作大大提高科大師生對全球身份認同及人道精神的認識，透過結合科大與ICRC的專長，推動全球公民教育和協助學生全面發展，啟發下一代世界公民，為培育未來領袖作出貢獻。
