培育心系世界的领袖
典型的香港学生在学术方面或许表现卓越，但对战地难民的困境可能了解不多。有见及此，香港科技大学（科大）与红十字国际委员会（ICRC）展开合作，让ICRC的外交和人道主义理想，结合科大的传统工程、商业和科学实力。今次合作为「科大侍学行」的最新项目，透过跟广大小区联系互动，提升学生的学习体验及公民意识。
对亚洲学生来说，人道主义和救援政策研究是相对冷门的学科，因此科大迈出重要一步，与中立且独立的人道组织ICRC建立桥梁，为学生提供实践同理心的机会。此外，ICRC亦呼吁大众关注全球武装冲突中的受害者困境。
这个项目涵盖以探讨经济为主的研究、工作坊和专门培训，学生将有一个千载难逢的机会，在ICRC位于日内瓦的总部工作。他／她将协助处理外交事务，接待包括国家领事代表和国际集团领袖等组织捐款者与合作伙伴。
这项具前瞻性的计划由科大与ICRC政府事务及捐款者关系部合作，ICRC更成立一个新部门「行动经验与研究中心」，就人道工作对发展中国家所带来的经济效益进行研究。
科大亦与 ICRC展开一系列新活动，包括职业讲座、校长与社会领袖对谈，分享创业学习中有关道德和人道主义问题，以及全日工作坊，包括小组讨论、汇报及角色扮演。
这次合作大大提高科大师生对全球身份认同及人道精神的认识，透过结合科大与ICRC的专长，推动全球公民教育和协助学生全面发展，启发下一代世界公民，为培育未来领袖作出贡献。
