科大生飛機設計全國奪亞
科大五名機械及航空航天工程系本科生早前參與由中國航空工業集團（中航）舉辦的首屆全國飛機設計比賽，於153隊參賽隊伍中脫穎而出，奪得第二名。
科大隊伍設計的雙座輕型運動飛機「游龍」，於機腹安裝水翼以縮短起飛時間，並配以可摺疊的機翼增加地面操作的靈活度，其下反翼尖的設計亦可減少飛機於水面起飛時翼尖觸碰水面的機會，提升安全度。得獎的設計模型於中航工業通用飛機公司位於珠海的總部作展覽。
五位同學：陳浩然、朱遠航、李家瑩、蔡智翔和謝雨揚都是首次參加全國比賽，其他參賽隊伍大多由航天研究員、碩士及博士生組成。五人於去年暑假花了一個月，合作進行搜集資料、研究，電腦繪圖，以及構建一比十「游龍」模型。
蔡智翔同學表示：「別的得獎作品水準很高，令人大開眼界。我希望日後參與這項比賽的師弟妹可取得更好成績。」
科大現正與中航合作，為內地私人飛機市場設計同類型的雙座輕型運動飛機，得獎學生將獲邀參與研製工作。科大及中航更簽訂了一系列協議提升雙方科研合作。
五位同學自幼已酷愛飛機模型，銳意進修航空工程學或於航空界發展。他們於三年前在校內創立航空航天興趣小組，讓志同道合的同學一同參與各種活動及國際賽事，為理想啟航。
