Strengthening Connectivity among HKUST Engineering Alumni in Shenzhen
Over 300 alumni, faculty and staff from both Hong Kong and the Mainland joined the HKUST School of Engineering (SENG) Alumni Day in Shenzhen on July 7, 2018 (Saturday).
Gathered at the HKUST Shenzhen Research Institute (SRI), the alumni day began with the HKUST SENG-SRI Forum with the theme of “Opportunities for the Development of the Greater Bay Area”. Speakers included HKUST President-designate Prof. Wei SHYY, Mr. Albert WONG, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Mr. Johnsheen ZHANG, President of Shenzhen Micro & Nano Research Institute of IC and System Applications. Prof. Enboa WU, Associate Vice-President for Knowledge Transfer of HKUST, also shared his views at the panel discussion moderated by Prof. Tim CHENG, Dean of Engineering of HKUST.
This was followed by the highly enjoyable HKUST Engineering Alumni Reunion Dinner with over 280 HKUST and engineering alumni, faculty and staff catching up with each other and building connections.
It was fully supported by seven of the School’s department and program-related alumni groups, including Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association (CEEAA), Civil and Environmental Engineering Postgraduates and Scholars Association (CEE PGSA), Computer Science and Engineering Alumni Association (CSEAA), Mechanical Engineering Graduates' Association (MEGA), Master of Science in Engineering Enterprise Management Alumni Association (EEMAA), Master of Science in Telecommunications Alumni Association (MTelAA) and Master of Technology Management Alumni Association (MTMAA), together with the HKUST Alumni Association and HKUST Mainland Alumni Association.
