工學院兩所實驗室獲研究資助局「中國科學院與香港地區聯合實驗室資助計劃」撥款
根據研究資助局（研資局）近期公布的「中國科學院與香港地區聯合實驗室資助計劃」撥款結果，兩個由香港科技大學（科大）工學院教授帶領的聯合實驗室獲得資助。
這兩個實驗室分別是由電子及計算機工程學系講座教授陳敬領導的「微電子聯合實驗室」和化學及生物工程學系系主任兼講座教授邵敏華領導的「氫能聯合實驗室」。
「微電子聯合實驗室」通過計劃的最新一次評估再次獲得認可，獲研資局資助187.5萬港元，為期五年。實驗室由科大與中國科學院微電子研究所合作成立。
「氫能聯合實驗室」則是計劃下的新增實驗室，獲研資局資助125萬港元，為期五年。實驗室由科大與中國科學院長春應用化學研究所合作成立。
本屆全港共有14間聯合實驗室獲得資助，其中四間來自香港科技大學，除了兩間來自工學院，亦有兩間來自理學院。
