Prof. Tim WOO Elected Chairman of Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong
Prof. Tim WOO, Electronic and Computer Engineering, has been elected as Chairman of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Hong Kong for a one-year term from January 1 to December 31, 2020. He is the Director of the School of Engineering’s Center for Global & Community Engagement and an Associate Professor of Engineering Education.
Formed in 2006 by a merge of two institutions, IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with over 168,000 members in 150 countries. As one of the largest IET Local Networks, IET Hong Kong has more than 5,000 members and is the heart of IET in the Asia-Pacific region. It has a main branch committee, six technical section committees (electronics and communications, informatics and control technologies, management, power and energy, manufacturing and industrial engineering, railway) and a younger members section to organize activities of different professional subjects.
