科大水底机械人小队在MATE国际水底机械人大赛2024获行销展示奖
香港科技大学（科大）水底机械人（ROV）小队在2024年「MATE国际水底机械人大赛」中获得大学组别的行销展示奖，这是队伍第二次赢得这个奖项。赛事于6月20日至22日在美国田纳西州金斯波特举行。
本届共有30支世界各地的区域优胜队伍入选决赛，包括来自加拿大丶埃及丶香港丶意大利丶澳门丶中国内地丶墨西哥丶新加坡丶美国和阿拉伯联合酋长国的队伍。
科大水底机械人小队于本年4月份赢得香港地区赛的十二连冠后，成功跻身决赛。该队由25名本科生组成（主要为一丶二年级学生），成员的背景多元化，他们来自全球五个不同地区，修读的学科亦非常广泛。
行销展示是比赛中的重要环节之一，由来自科学丶商业丶政府丶工业和教育／推广等不同领域的专业人士评分。各队需要以既引人入胜又易于理解的方式呈现技术内容，以满足专业及非专业人士的需要。科大队伍在今年的比赛中取得了54.5分（最高为50分，包括4.5分的额外分）。
水底机械人小队是科大机械人竞赛团队的四个分队之一，其他分队包括全港大专生机械人大赛小队丶无人机小队和智能竞赛小队。机械人竞赛团队一向积极参加各项机械人竞赛，多年来取得了瞩目的成绩。
