科大水底機械人小隊在MATE國際水底機械人大賽2024獲行銷展示獎
香港科技大學（科大）水底機械人（ROV）小隊在2024年「MATE國際水底機械人大賽」中獲得大學組別的行銷展示獎，這是隊伍第二次贏得這個獎項。賽事於6月20日至22日在美國田納西州金斯波特舉行。
本屆共有30支世界各地的區域優勝隊伍入選決賽，包括來自加拿大、埃及、香港、意大利、澳門、中國內地、墨西哥、新加坡、美國和阿拉伯聯合酋長國的隊伍。
科大水底機械人小隊於本年4月份贏得香港地區賽的十二連冠後，成功躋身決賽。該隊由25名本科生組成（主要為一、二年級學生），成員的背景多元化，他們來自全球五個不同地區，修讀的學科亦非常廣泛。
行銷展示是比賽中的重要環節之一，由來自科學、商業、政府、工業和教育／推廣等不同領域的專業人士評分。各隊需要以既引人入勝又易於理解的方式呈現技術內容，以滿足專業及非專業人士的需要。科大隊伍在今年的比賽中取得了54.5分（最高為50分，包括4.5分的額外分）。
水底機械人小隊是科大機械人競賽團隊的四個分隊之一，其他分隊包括全港大專生機械人大賽小隊、無人機小隊和智能競賽小隊 。機械人競賽團隊一向積極參加各項機械人競賽，多年來取得了矚目的成績。
