Congratulations to Prof. Jiannong Wang on Naming Wu Chien-Shiung Professor of Science

Prof. Jiannong Wang, Head and Chair Professor of Physics, has awarded the title of Wu Chien-Shiung Professor of Science.

This named professorship was established by an anonymous donor and is named after the Chinese physicist Professor Chien-Shiung Wu, who was awarded the first Wolf Prize in Physics in 1978 for revolutionary discoveries in the field of atomic and nuclear physics.

The University's name Professorships program, generously supported by donors, honor and encourage the achievements of its first-class scholars. In the era of global competition for talented academics, these distinguished titles provide vital recognition as well as additional funding to attract, foster and retain the very best minds. Since 2013, HKUST have awarded the title of Named Professor to more than 50 eminent faculty members.
