刘纪美教授获《旭茉JESSICA》杂志颁发2022「成功女性奖」
电子及计算机工程学系讲座教授刘纪美荣获《旭茉JESSICA》杂志颁发2022「成功女性奖」，以表扬她在社会及工程界的贡献。
《旭茉JESSICA》是2000年於香港面世的月刊，目标是向新千禧年代的香港女性行政人员读者提供时尚生活资讯。其年度「成功女性奖」旨在表扬香港及大中华地区来自各行各业丶对社会有贡献的女性。每位被提名的女性都需经过评审团评核，最终脱颖而出成为得奖者。该奖项是对刘纪美教授杰出的领导能力丶学术地位及影响力的认可，刘教授於各方面的卓越贡献在社会上发挥了至关重要的作用。
刘纪美教授在美国明尼苏达大学取得物理学学士及硕士学位，及後在美国莱斯大学取得电机工程学博士学位。刘教授於2000年加入香港科技大学，并於翌年创立了光电科技中心，专注於三五族及宽能隙半导体物料和装置的研发工作。她曾获电机及电子工程师学会（IEEE）丶光学学会（Optica）及香港工程科学院（HKAES）颁发院士荣衔。刘纪美教授更曾夺多项殊荣，包括2020年国际工程技术学会J. J. Thomson电子学奖章丶2020年光学学会Nick Holonyak Jr.奖丶2017年IEEE光电学会Aron Kressel奖丶1991年美国国家科学基金会女科学家和工程师奖，以及2008年香港裘槎基金会优秀科研者奖。
