科大成为来港攻读工程博士学的位首选大学
香港科技大学（科大）工学院再度成為世界各地顶尖大学生在港攻读工程博士学位的首选学院。香港研究资助局(「研资局」)公佈的第二届「香港博士研究生奖学金计划」结果显示，科大工学院吸纳的博士生人数，是全港大专院校的工学院之冠。
研资局3月30日公布，今届共有125名来自世界19国家及地区的精英接受了这项奖学金。其中22人选读科大工程学，佔全港选读工程学的得奖者44%，是连续第二年最多工程学得奖者入读的工学院。工学院的入读人数亦佔全科大的总入读人数(32人)超过叁分之二。
科大工学院能够吸纳眾多的精英，实有赖其教授的卓越研究表现和他们对教研的决心。这些世界级博士生的加入，将进一步丰富学院在各工程范畴取得的研究成果。科大工学院院长李德富教授表示：「学院具备世界级的教授及研究设施，我相信各博士生都能够在这里发挥他们的最大潜能。」
研资局於2009年创立了「香港博士研究生奖学金计划」，旨在招募世界各地和本地的精英学生入读教资会资助院校，修读博士学位研究课程。今届研资局共收到来自全球103个国家/地区的4,024份申请。
