Risk Perception of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indian Construction Industry

Prof. Kira MATUS, Associate Professor of Division of Public Policy (PPOL) shared her research insights in a two-day workshop “Risk Perception of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Indian Construction Industry” on 14-15 November 2019. It is believed that with the development of AI-based technologies, the construction industry can improve the efficiency of their activities, including adopting cutting edge technologies to ensure faster delivery and a safe working environment. However, there are concerns and uncertainties on the adaptation of the technologies and the impact on the industry.  Prof. MATUS’s research tries to capture risk perception among the construction personnel and the public regarding AI inclusion in the construction sector through a multi-stage process of qualitative and quantitative methods, with the goal of using this data to better understand the potential barriers to the deployment of AI technologies in this key industry.
