科大「保險業日」介紹業內新機遇和前景
香港科技大學工商管理學院（科大商學院）首次舉辦「保險業日」。
香港特別行政區財經事務及庫務局副局長陳浩濂先生、保險業監管局主席鄭慕智博士及科大校董會主席廖長城先生應邀為活動作主禮嘉賓，為「保險業日」的職業介紹活動及論壇揭開序幕，參與嘉賓包括著名國際保險公司及業界領袖。
主題為《保險業的迷思與事實》的活動為期半天，旨在讓科大修讀各學科的同學了解更多保險業多元的就業機會和前景，以及保險業對香港經濟的重大貢獻。
世界排名前20位的國際保險公司中，有13間在香港開展業務。由前線從業員到後勤專業人士，本港有超過10萬人從事保險行業。保險業對香港成為全球首屈一指的金融及財富管理中心擔當重要角色。
財經事務及庫務局副局長陳浩濂先生在活動揭幕儀式中的主題演講表示，香港是國際保險業中心，保險業能發揮風險分散的重要作用，有助降低商界及社會的經濟負擔，以及維持本港社會及經濟穩定。
科大校董會主席廖長城先生非常感謝業界及香港特區政府的鼎力支持。「保險業日提供了一個大好機會，讓我們的學生透過與十多間不同保險公司的代表交流互動，認識業界不同的崗位，並探索各類職位的就業機會」。
科大商學院院長譚嘉因教授表示：「是次活動彰顯我們重視與商界的合作機會。這類活動不僅有助我們培養新一代的專業人才，更可讓同學及早了解更多不同行業的職位和晉升機會」。
「保險業日」亦邀請多位保險機構的專家和高層出席，參與兩場分別以《銷售以外的保險業前景》及《保險科技》為題的討論環節，讓學生能直接了解全球保險業的新趨勢，以及在不同發展階段所需的技能和知識。
